Recently I have become a fanatic about the world of futbol. Even though we call the sport soccer in the United States it is the same game non-the-less. Futbol, in my opinion, is the most intricate of the sports because of the countless leagues that each country has. This is why I am so interested in Bolivian futbol. I know all about the European Champions League and all about the best players in the world but I don't know what hidden talent Bolivia may be hiding.
The F.B.F. on the ball in the picture shown above stands for Bolivian Futbol Federation that organized the Bolivian national futbol team in 1826. The team has struggled to gain wins since the start up of the team. They have only qualified for the world cup three times and have never made it past the first round. Their opening game, in the 1926 South American Championship, started out with the first goal for Bolivia but ended much like most matches in a smothering 7-1 blowout. Just as they were blown out of the championship they have been blown out in every World Cup that they have attended. The only great achievement was the victory in the 1963 South American Championship that was hosted in the Bolivian city of La Paz. Some argue and claim that the Bolivian team only secured victory over the runner-up Paraguay was because of the team's ability to withstand high altitudes
